As more and more immigrants make Canada their home each year, particularly the City of Brampton, there is a need to not only integrate but to remain competitive and to prepare one’s children for this environment.

 

BLC is a unique learning centre which offers students the opportunity to remain competitive in the post-secondary arena, regardless of their disability or language capabilities in two significant ways:

 

• Mentorship Tutoring seeks to address any barriers (ie. socio-emotional issues, peer pressure, mental health, disability, etc.) that would prevent students from being academically successful.

• Social and Life Skills Development Skills Training seeks to improve skills social skills (ie. confidence, self-esteem, organizational and time management skills, etc.) that would hinder their ability to be academically competitive.

 

The Brampton Literacy Centre (BLC) offers a 3-fold personalized service of editing, tutoring, and counselling.  The Centre recognizes that these three services are essential and interconnected as clients would benefit from at least two services at any given time.
